Heavybit Welcomes New Member: Modiqo
Heavybit welcomes the agentic execution platform Modiqo.

"Today's AI agents are impressive in the demo and unreliable in production. The deeper problem isn't agent capability. It's that every agent run is effectively a one-off chat log rather than an artifact that can be proven and iterated on. Teams pay the same rediscovery tax over and over, and the abstractions emerging around them weren't built to survive change. Modiqo's Rote captures what worked the first time and turns it into deterministic code, cutting token usage, reserving inference for the parts that genuinely need it, and reining in the context bloat plaguing today's agent stacks. Chetan and his team are building the execution layer agents need to graduate from experiment to production infrastructure, and Heavybit is proud to back them from Day 0." - Joseph Ruscio, General Partner / Heavybit
Heavybit Welcomes New Member: Modiqo
Heavybit is excited to welcome the agentic CLI building startup Modiqo to our portfolio. Modiqo’s Rote platform addresses one of the fastest-growing pains in today’s agentic AI landscape: The spiraling costs of babysitting agents across repeated, long-horizon tasks.
In theory, AI agents have seemingly emerged as the miraculous realization of AI’s potential for autonomous work. In practice, agents aren’t reliable, precise, or predictable enough to carry out every organization’s hopes and dreams, at least not yet.
As such, an increasingly common pain point for teams working with agents is the struggle to manage them to consistent success with ongoing tasks. While agents can work with remarkable speed, they still struggle with context and memory issues that make it impossible for them to be dependable for mission-critical tasks.
Why We’re Excited
At the dawning of the agentic era, it seemed like a certainty that agents would replace software engineers wholesale: They code faster and improve with every passing week. In practice, we’ve seen a new reality set in as the “tokenmaxxing” of human engineers (the not-necessarily-100%-serious practice of purposely spending as many AI tokens as possible for coding) has been eclipsed by the massive token expenditures incurred by autonomous agents.
New estimates shockingly suggest that organizations relying on agents may start incurring costs that are comparable to hiring more human engineers, if not higher. Agents aren’t simply gobbling up token budgets on initial generation jobs; they’re also costing orgs even more dearly with repeated review and triage runs.
Rote by Modiqo offers the best of both worlds: It allows for the rapid execution of agents, but also crystallizes any and all learnings and execution efficiency into persistent, deterministic code, then makes it easy to share what teams and their agents have built with the rest of their organization. All to run consistently as many times as needed, because Rote doesn’t rely on finicky agents that hallucinate or require repeated prompting; it generates robust, executable code to put into production.
In the future, Modiqo will continue to scale its team while enhancing its platform. Learn more about Rote by Modiqo by visiting the website.
