Casado is a partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He was previously the cofounder and chief technology officer at Nicira, which was acquired by VMware in 2012.
Martin Casado is often described as the “pioneer of software-defined networking”. The Andreessen Horowitz General Partner cofounded Nicira, sold it to VMWare for 1.26B dollars and stayed on at VMware as general manager of the company’s networking and security business. As an executive, Casado is credited with taking a company from zero to $600M ARR. A pro when it comes to enterprise buyers, he is hosting Heavybit office hours to help member companies think through enterprise category creation with a special focus on technology infrastructure products.
