SF Video Tech Meetup
Jun 29, 2017
Hosted by Mux, the SF Video Technology meetup is for people interested in video tech including open standards, streaming protocols, transcoding, codecs, analytics, tooling and adtech.
About the Event
The SF Video Technology meetup is for anyone interested in the underlying technology behind video and video publishing: HTML5 video, streaming, transcoding, codecs, advertising, open standards, and more. We will focus on the engineering side and not the creative side, but creatives are welcome.
This is the last meetup before Demuxed submissions close! We’ve gotten some really great ones so far, but we need moar! After our lovely meetup this week everyone is going to go home (after, perhaps, a celebratory beverage at the finest watering hole in SF) and toss in 1-10 talk ideas.
Keep in mind you can also submit for other people if you think they’d be really great. There’s no pressure on their end aside from the fact that I, Matt McClure, will personally hound them to the ends of the earth until they agree to give the amazing talk you submitted for them. They’ll love it, I promise.
On a more serious note, we’ll do our best to help folks get here to speak if budget is a problem. We might not be able to buy a flight in first class, but thanks to our incredible sponsors we can certainly make a dent in the cost. Speaker swag will be incredible too, which, let’s be honest, we all know is the most important part.
Matt Ward (Mux) – Inside the Tubes
An intro to networking concepts. Matt will take us on a journey into peering, networking, and basically everything related to getting bits from one place to another via our favorite series of tubes.
Lightning talks! We’re lucky to have some exciting folks in town this month, so hopefully we can squeeze a few quick presentations out of them 🙂
